New Davis Weather Station

Well, I finally was able to purchase a new Davis weather station to replace my original Davis which failed last year. The new weather station is a Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus wireless with solar suite. I also purchased a Davis WeatherLink to get my data on the internet. The station is in a temporary location and is not in an optimal position for accurate reporting. I plan to move it to a permanent installation this summer. I have one more major outdoor project to complete first and I don’t want to have to move it multiple times.

This new station is twice as big and much heavier than the older Vantage. My current setup just wont handle the physical load. I’m also comparing to my other weather stations. The current website is being feed by a WeatherFlow Air and Sky. I also received last week their newer Tempest which is also under comparison. I have pretty much given up on my Netatmo as I can’t seem to keep batteries in the rain gauge or anemometer. During the colder months I have to replace the batteries almost monthly. It wasn’t that way when they were new. Someday I will do a blog on my experiences with each of these stations.

Once I figure out the best way to post the new weather data, I will update the website and blog.

Hope everyone is staying safe and well during these abnormal times.

The WeatherTrek Team.
