WeatherTrek Privacy Policy Statement

This website does not knowingly collect any personal user information from any of our visitors.  Any correspondence with this website through email or other means is kept confidential.  We will seek permission to publish any comments received  prior to doing so.  The only exception to this is our Guestbook, which is governed by typical Guestbook etiquette, and then you are only required to enter your name and comments.  Any information obtained regarding Email Address, User ID, ISP, Location, IP Address, etc will be viewed only by the webmaster in order to determine site usage and for troubleshooting requirements.

As of June 29th, 2005, we have introduced a script that provides information about our site visitor's browser, operating system, screen resolution, page visits, etc.  We collect this mainly to aid us in efficiently tailoring our website for our users.  Only the webmaster has access to this information.  This is accomplished through the utilization of 'cookies'.  Cookies are small text files sent from a website to your hard drive.  These files do not allow anyone else to obtain your personal information, nor do we believe they cause any harm to your computer.

WeatherTrek does not participate in "spam" email nor do we utilize or condone the use of "spy-ware" or "ad-ware", and find the use of such to be extremely agitating and an intrusion into our personal and professional life.  Unfortunately, we have had certain individuals hijack our website name and use it as return address for spam email, thus making it appear we generated the email.  Please be assured we had nothing to do with it and wish we could prevent it!  The only suggestion we can offer is to "ping" our website name, note the IP address, and then compare that to the IP address of the email header information.  You will see that it didn't come from here.

WeatherTrek makes no guarantees in regard to the policies of other websites referenced and/or linked to and you should investigate each site's privacy policy before providing personally identifiable information to them should this concern you.

WeatherTrek reserves the right to modify this privacy policy statement whenever the need arises.  Changes to this policy will be posted to this site on this page in a timely manner.  This policy is not a contractual agreement and does not provide the website visitor with any legal rights.
